Absence Presence

This body of paintings explores the absence and presence of subject and self. It. takes a step back from any representational elements and dives into a realm of pure abstraction and spirituality. Glimpses of figures seem to shift within the pulsation of striking colour that emerges through the layers; they are absent yet present at the same time.

Some of this work consists of many layers of paint, but instead of discovering and defining forms and shapes, it has evolved into concealment of any visible subject matter and mundane references and have become, for lack of a better word...pure. This series reflects an evolution of my constant spiritual growth. So within the absence there is presence...
